Section 1 – Fee for Clinical Service

Assessment Fees per Visit:
Assessment of one problem area $60.00 – $190.00

Treatment Fees per Visit:
Treatment of one problem area $45.00 – $190.00

Hourly Rate:
Fees may be charged on an hourly rate of $60.00 – $190.00 (This rate is based on value of an assessment)

  • 1 hr Assessment: $60.00 – $190.00
  • 1 hr Treatment: $45.00 – $190.00
  • 1/2 hr Treatment: $45.00 – $90.00

Section 2 – Fee for Field Service

Description: Employment requiring on-site coverage of a sporting event without travel.

Qualification Salary ($/hour)
Certification Candidate with First Responder Certification $15-18

Certified Athletic Therapist $35-90
* Additional charges may apply for events requiring travel.

Event Coverage

Description: Employment requiring event coverage of a sporting event (i.e. tournaments or training camps) with or without travel.

Qualification Salary ($/day)
Certification Candidate with First Responder Certification1 $80.00 – $120.00
Certified Athletic Therapist $300.00 – $500.00
* Additional charges may apply for events requiring travel.

Travel Costs
Mileage charged at the Canada Revenue Agency rate, which is currently at $0.54/km.

According to the Athletic Therapists Association of British Columbia Bylaws 3.4.3 A Certification Candidate member may not invoice for professional services, unless the Certification Candidate member is authorized to do so under another professional certifying body.


Section 3 – Narrative Medical Reports

A recommended fee of $75.00 will be charged for all reports not exceeding two (2) pages. For reports exceeding two pages, the recommended fee of $75.00 plus $25.00 per additional half page will be levied.


Section 4 – Public Notification of Fee Structure

The fee for service must be prominently displayed on the Athletic Therapists Association of British Columbia website, for patient information.


Section 5 – Annual Review

The fee for service that is charged by a Certified Athletic Therapist would be subject to annual review at the annual general meeting.


Section 6 – Notices

Athletic Therapy fees vary based on:

  • Additional Designations held;
  • Exceptional skill, expertise, areas of special practice;
  • Unusual complexity of the condition being treated;
  • Emergency call, or treatment required beyond regular practice hours.
